CHOIR
The St George’s Diocesan School will celebrate its Centenary in 2019 and with that comes a rich history of our School Choirs. In 2011 Ms Jolanda Amoraal started the Preparatory School Senior Choir consisting of Grade 4-7 students (9-13 year olds). In that year the Senior Choir received a gold certificate for the South African ATKV Applous Choir Competition and participated in the final of this competition.
Ms Amoraal started a Junior Choir at the School in 2013 with members from Grade 1-3 (6-9 year olds) to develop these young voices to be a feeder choir for the prestigious Senior Choir of the School. In 2015 Junior Choir was placed in the Top 10 best Junior School Choirs in South Africa after the ATKV Applous Competition.
From 2014 to 2017 both these choirs received distinctions in various choir competitions. In 2017 the Senior Choir was part of the huge Hallelujah Namibia Gospel Concert.
In 2018 the Senior Choir participated in the 10th World Choir Games in Pretoria, South Africa.
